This bot could has severe limitations. MonoSlam has issues and I know the ROS environment. After the March 2023 firmware update they reset the root password to an unknown value. I was going to tweek several ros frame parameters to hopefully get monoslam to judge better because it's off by 3ft on both sides right now. I installed na LD06 LIDAR and got the ROS1 code installed and working but when testing the LIDAR I quickly realized there's not enough battery power to get decent runtime. So I have been focusing on optimizing monoslam. Now I have to take the bot apart and see if I can connect via the USB interface via ADB or perhaps I can mount the storage on my Linux Development box. For now I'm working on building a Turtlebot 4 out of my Create3 bot.

I run an inspection company and have found Scout to be quite useful. Instead of sending people into potentially hazardous areas, the robot can easily investigate for us. The only downside is that sometimes the robot will roll over, and we have to attach a string to pull it out. A self-righting arm would be nice.

I accidentally drove the bot into the pool, and it turned off. After draining a lot of water out of it, I was amazed that it still powers up and works as normal. The company said that the waterproof level isn't sufficient for going to the bottom of my pool, but it's still functioning. Good job.

The battery life is very short. The device has to be recharged manually since it cannot go to a Charging Station on its own. An idea before its time !
