Some things are excellent

The Scout is an underrated robot. I have had it for a year now and I think it is excellent. Frequent updates have improved it even further. The pet and people recognition is spot on. It always finds it's way back home after it makes a monitor round. This is a great robot that is worth more than the price of it.....oh yeah....it works outside in the rain too with no problem if that's something you want to do with it. I love my Moorebot! Any negative review seemed to be from user error instead of the robots.

Little complicated to get the profaning down and the path.
Could be. A little faster.
Other than that it’s good.

A great robot with moving capability

A great product. Generally fulfilled my remote monitoring requirements.
However, the sound from the speaker is hardly noticeable from a resonable distance. Same for the mic. The wheels are difficult to clean. The api are limited for practical purposes. Appreciate if a separate programming guide is available in order to fully explore the capability of the robot.
Looking forward for a new model with leaping advancements soon

What is Scout?

Scout is an autonomous mobile robot with four-wheel drive and mecanum wheels that lets you ,monitor, discover, and explore the world around you.

Does Scout require WiFi?

Yes. Scout support both WiFi direct and AP mode. In WiFi direct mode, the user may connect directly to Scout with mobile phones. In AP mode, Scout connects to your home router as an IoT device.

What are the main functions of Scout?

Scout is a consumer-grade autonomous mobile robot (AMR) that can also serve as a moving IP camera. Scout can be programmed to automatically patrol an area, transmitting video and images to the user’s phone and mobile devices. Scout’s batteries can last for about two hours of active use. As it nears running out of power, it always goes back to its charging port.

Scout also supports Scratch Language for programing additional functionality and for learning simple programming skills for STEM education. Advanced developers can execute C/C++ programs on Scout. More extension tools can be designed as add-on skills to the robot. Much more can be done on this platform.

What are the AI features of Scout?

Scout runs on Linux + ROS. It can recognize objects such as the human body, pets, and more with Google's TensorFlow. It also runs a Monocular SLAM algorithm to achieve autonomous patrol and to find its charging port.

Does Scout connect to Alexa or Google Home?

Yes. Scout is compliant with Amazon Alexa and Google Home. You can expect to stream Scout's visual to Alexa Show, Spot, and Google screen devices, to send voice commands to control the robot movement, and to trigger patrol with smart home devices such as door sensors. Pairing can be done in Android and iOS apps from Alexa and Google home.

Why do I need an App? Where to download?

Scout App is required to set up the robot and pair it with your Amazon and Google accounts. The App is available at the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Amazon Appstore.
